Consistency
Big moments get attention. Small moments build trust.
Leadership gets glamorised.
Big speeches. Big plays. Big moments.
But the longer I lead - and the longer I coach kids soccer - the more I realise:
Big moments don’t build teams.
The small stuff does.
It’s not the speeches or the scoreboard that build teams.
It’s the small stuff. What gets done when no one’s watching.
Cutting oranges.
Showing up early.
Putting the team first.
Doing the work with energy (and a smile).
I coach two kids’ soccer teams.
And every Saturday morning, cutting those oranges reminds me:
Leadership isn’t built in moments of glory.
It’s built in moments of consistency.
The same is true in business, in leadership, in life.
Teams, and trust, are built when no one’s watching.
Not in the highlight reel.
But in what you’re willing to do when there’s no applause.
